Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to a new week and I sure hope that your week is starting off on the right foot. Weekends always go by so fast, don't ya think? I hope you had a wonderful weekend and hopefully you are ready to get a jump start on gathering fun ideas and inspiration for all your crafty projects! With that being said, welcome to Crafty Monday!!!
Have you had a chance to stop by the store to see the new release for February yet?? If not, make sure you go and check it out! So many beautiful new digital stamps and sweet new papers! You won't be disappointed! Okay so for today, I had the wonderful privilege of working with this beautiful new digi, Kimono Girl . Boy was she ever so fun to color up with my copics! What do ya think?
So as I mentioned, she is colored up in copics onto some Recollections cardstock. I added some wink of stella to the fan and the flowers on her kimono and then I cut her out using Spellbinder's insert die from the Radiant Rectangles dies. I set her aside and then took another piece of that cardstock and created my card base. This time I went a little bit bigger and more like traditional store bought cards with a size of 5 by 7. I cut out two more layers from that same die set from some My Mind's Eye paper and then started to adhere each layer together. I had a red heart doily which I ended up cutting up to make it smaller and then went ahead and adhered that down on my top layer before grabbing my sweet Kimono girl and adhered her down on the top of the red doily and the rest of the layers. I knew that I was going to use a white card base so I decided to grab some black cardstock, enough to give the layers a small thin border to make it pop off the white card base.
This time around, I decided I wanted to finish off the inside of the card. I cut out two ovals from the same Spellbinder's die set (on white cardstock and on MME pattern paper) and adhered them together. Love the look! I stamped the cute sentiment, "You make me happy" in momento tuxedo black ink as I thought based off the digi image that the girl and the fox were very smitten! The sentiment just kind of fit perfectly! The sentiment is from Sunny Studio Stamp's , Rain or Shine stamp set. Such an adorable stamp set too!
So to finish off the card, I added a little yellow flower to this sweet girl's hair, topped with a gold sequin. I then took some more of these yellow flowers which are from Prima, and adhered each one to some cute red flowers (also from Prima) to create a two-toned flower. I wanted to match the colors in the image and papers and I think this matches pretty well. Each flower was also topped with a gold sequin. And as you can see from the photo above, I also adhered one of these cute flowers to the inside of the card to follow the theme. The sequins are all from my stash. And do you see those adorable small red hearts? They were cut out using another Spellbinder's die and I had a little of the red glitter paper left from a previous project so I just went with that. :)
Well my friends that is all I have for you today. I sure do hope you enjoyed my sweet card using one of February's newest digital stamps, Kimono Girl. Please make sure you head on over to the Little Blue Button Blog to see what my other Design team sisters have created using this sweet image and remember to stop by the LBBS Store to check out the new release and all the many digital stamps and papers that Olga carries!
