Cardz TV's Challenge #29 "There's no other like my Mother"

CLICK HERE to enter my 200th Follower Giveaway!!!

Hello Friends =)
I hope you are all having a great day today. I'm excited because it's the start of the weekend and what an awesome and fun-filled weekend this will be! To start the weekend off right, it's challenge day at Cardz TV  and Mary challenged us to create cards or projects for Mother's Day. I don't know about all of you, but I have the best Mom in the whole world and I really put a lot of thought and love into this card for her.

Cardz TV Ch# 29"There's no other like my Mother!"
Make a card, layout or craft project for Mother's Day
Starts: Fri, May 3rd
Ends: Thurs, May 16th @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps

My card  base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and I used Winter Wisteria cardstock by Papertrey Ink. I love this color paper. I have the matching ink as well and lately, Papertrey Ink's cardstock and inks have become my favorite. The roses are from the Flower Silhouettes stamp set by Hot off the Press.

I stamped the roses onto white bazzill cardstock using the "New Leaf" and "Autumn Rose" inks by Papertrey Ink and then fussy cut them out. To get the lighter color rose, I used the Autumn Rose ink and stamped the image once an then stamped off once. This is a great way to get more mileage out of your inks and to get different shades of your favorite colors. The patterned damask paper that I used was just some paper in my stash that I had from the Paper Loft. I used the sentiment, "I wish you love" from the Cardz Tv Stamps set called "More Encouraging Thoughts". This is an amazing set to have. Mary thinks of it all!!!

To finish off my card, I added some green striped washi tape down along the seam of where the patterned paper and my carstock come together. I sure hope this card puts a smile on my mom's face!
Well that is my card today however, my design team sisters have rocked this challenge and I encourage you to stop by the Cardz TV Blog and visit their blogs for some great inspiration goodiness! If you like the stamp sets that you see today and would like to purchase them, you can do so by going HERE.

Well thats it for me today my friends! Be sure to join me tomorrow for NSD as it is my 1 year blogaversary and my Huge birthday giveaway and blop hop! There will be tons of inspiration, gorgeous projects from the design team and some exciting news to share! I hope to see you all there!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day

Hi blog friends, happy Thursday! I want to apologize for being MIA the past week, it's been hectic. We all know how life gets in the way right? I have been under the weather as well and it has not been fun to say the least. So anyways, my neighbor came to me on Tuesday and asked me if I could make a Mother's day card for her soon to be daughter-in-law because she forgot to purchase a card at the store and loves my work *giggle*...so of course I said I would make her a card and here it is.

The card is an A2 card using DCVW blue cardstock as the base and the pretty patterned paper is also from DCVW's Linen Closet collection. I just LOVE this paper! It has some glitter going through it and sparkles but you can't see that in the picture.

I printed out the sentiment on some Bazzill white cardstock that I cut out using my Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis dies and then inked up the edges using some Tim Holtz antique linen distress ink. The flowers are from a mother's day stamp set by Ditto. I colored them using copics BG05, BG10 and BG15 and then added some glossy accents. I used gold platinum liquid pearls for the flower centers and around the sentiment frame. I used some Martha Stewart ribbon that I had in my stash to make a cute quick bow to dress up the side. I also cut a frame for the inside of the card using the spellbinder's  fleur de lis die and added more liquid pearls to continue the theme of the card. The saying on the inside is my own and says: "It takes a real special person to be a Mother. Someone who nurtures and loves unconditionally; someone who's work is never done. You fill these shoes flawlessly. Happy Mother's Day".

I am not sure why my picture is on it's side, I apologize for that. Well that is my card for today, I hope you liked it and hope it inspires you to make your Mom a handmade card for Mother's day!
