Hello friends!
How are all of you today? I am hearing that most of the East Coast is getting hit hard with tons of rain these past few days. I wish I could get some of that! It has been extremely HOT. Yesterday it was 105 here with the heat index. I wish I was able to jump into a pool !LOL
aahh.. welcome to Summer my friends and welcome to another talk time Tuesday!
Our first question today comes from Sherrie K. who asks, "Where do you purchase most of your scrapbooking supplies and what is your favorite line of papers to use for layouts?"
Hi Sherrie!
I try to do most of my purchasing at my local scrapbook store here in town, Cat's Creations as I like to support my local store. I have always been a huge fan of supporting the locals. The owner and staff at Cat's are very friendly and crazy fun and the store carries just about everything from A to Z!
Then there is my love for certain online stores. I have certain stores that I purchase from for my stamping and then others for scrapbooking. Since you asked about scrapbooking, the stores I purchase from the most for my supplies are A Cherry on Top, Simon Says Stamp, Ellen Hutson, Blue Moon and Archiver's. Now to answer your next question, my favorite line of papers to use for layouts is a toss up between Echo Park and Bo Bunny for my patterned papers and Bazzill and Core'dinations for my cardstock. I love all of these companies and use their papers all the time.
Thanks so much for your questions Sherrie and I hope to hear from you again soon!
Our next question comes from Brenda L. who asks, "Jo how do you balance your design team obligations with your crafty time for
yourself and time with your family?"
Hello Brenda!
Well to be honest, I don't always get to have my crafty time for myself. I do plan for it during the week but it doesn't always happen that way. Crafting for me is therapy. It is very therapeutic and takes away a lot of the stress and ailments that I go through on a daily basis, so whether I am crafting for myself or for my DT obligations; it is good for me and I enjoy it so much.
What I do is spend my days and weekends with my family. For the most part, that consists of my partner and my daughter because my mom loves to just watch her tv and relax. We have our family movie nights on weekends and we have our family time during the week during the daytime and early evenings. So my crafting time comes in late at night once everyone is in bed asleep. I am a night owl. I always have been and my body runs on about 4-5 hours of sleep per night. Because I am in chronic pain 24/7, I don't sleep much because of the pain. So most nights while everyone is in bed, I am in my craft room doing what I love. I will work on my DT Obligations first and if there is time left for me to work on something for myself, I will. It is very hard to juggle the two but I manage. I'm way behind on my own stuff as i'm sure many of us are LOL. I am currently working on my 2008 family album so that should tell ya how far behind I am! Thank you Brenda for your question and I hope to hear from you again soon!
Well my friends.. have a beautiful day!
Until next time.... Enjoy life's blessings~
I look forward to checking out those on-line stores! We don't have any local scrap stores in my town, but in Gettysburg there is a fabulous one. I just don't get to it much because I hate the crowds, and as you can imagine Gettysburg get really crowded. Especially this year as it is the 150th Anniversary! lol I think a lot of people craft late night, I wish I was a night owl but I'm not. Never have been. lol Thanks for such great answers again Jo!

Thanks for mentioning Cat's! I tend to craft at night most of the time but some during the day when the weather isn't good for being out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the information... I will be checking on some of the places you shop at for supplies! Thanks again!
