I had the awesome pleasure of working with this Love Balloon Vicky digital stamp from Little Blue Button Stamps. I decided to alter a notebook and give this to my daughter for Valentine's day. She loves to write songs and I thought this would be a perfect place for her to write all her amazing love songs in! So here is my altered notebook.
I colored this cute image in with my Inktense watercolor pencils. I have to say that I still need practice with these pencils. They really are so vibrant and when hit with the water, they really become alive. So I colored her skin with light skin tones and a light beige and her hair with shades of browns and tan. Then for her clothes, shoes and the hearts, I decided to color them up using shades of red and fuchsia. Once I was finished, I fussy cut her out and because the balloon strings would have been impossible to cut around, I just cut the hearts apart from her. I added some dot and stripe detail to her dress using my black glaze sakura pen and liked it a lot so I added some dot detail on the hearts too. I gave the smaller heart big dots and the larger heart, smaller dots for contrast. Once I finally did adhere them to the finished notebook, I just hand drew the balloon strings on.
Okay so for the notebook, I took two patterned Valentine papers that I had in my stash ( want to say that they are from Recollections) and cut them down to size. I adhered the papers to the front and back of the book. Then I took a half inch strip of pretty pink glitter paper and adhered that in the middle over the two pattern papers to hide where they met. Then I cut some black cardstock for the spine. The spine is an inch on both sides. I added a half of a gold heart doily to the left side and then adhered Vicky and the balloons down and drew the strings. I cut out a few hearts from an old Creative Memories punch that I have in the pattern papers and the pretty pink glitter paper and adhered them around the front to complete the notebook. Then to finish it off, I stamped "My love, you warm my heart" up in the right corner and "Be mine" on the bottom right inside the heart. The heart on the very bottom right hand corner had another little heart stamp stamped in black and then I cut out a cute little white patterned heart from the patterned paper and adhered that to the top of the stamped heart. I like how this turned out and I know that my daughter is going to absolutely love this! Forgot to mention that all stamps used were from Cardz TV Stamps. Here is the back of the finished altered notebook.
If you read this far, thank you and I hope you enjoy hopping along with all of us today. Hopefully we can encourage you to get out all of your Valentine papers and accessories and create something for your special valentines this year. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty note book. And to know what it will hold is great. I love the gold heart and the dress. The back of the notebook is just as pretty.
ReplyDeleteHey, Jo. You can delete this comment after you read it, please. It was just easier than going to the e-mail. I went through the hop and Elina, Kate, Micaela, Mika, nancy, Tina Olga and the Little Blue Button have absolutely nothing up on their sites. A huge waste of time for those of us who are wanting to participate and we have to search each girls site to see if we're missing it. Ugh! You might want to pass on a gentle reminder that all projects should have been scheduled to launch at the same time. It was really disappointing and like I said it gobbled up the time. Sigh!!! Not your fault, I know.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jo, Love the gold on there. sweet image to.
