For this week's challenge, I had the fun of coloring up this adorable image by Bugaboo called Chibi Cupcake Peeker.
So here is what I came up with
Simon Says Stamp
Penny's Challenge #272
Inspiration Destination Challenge #80
So here is what I came up with
Well I printed this image out on some textured cold press watercolor paper (thinking I would watercolor her) and then decided to color her in copics. I learned that this paper is horrible with copics. I was halfway finished coloring her when I decided I didn't like it but was too tired to start over and print it out again. I just went with it. It looks okay but it's not as smooth as I am used to. Okay so colored her with the copics as I mentioned and when I was finished, I added some clear wink of stella to the cupcake, topping, cherry and hair bow. I stamped the sentiment in london fog ink and then heat embossed in clear embossing powder. Unfortunately like an idiot, I couldn't see the embossing powder changing colors due to the shade in the room from the storm outside, that I ended up actually burning my paper and my cupcake wrapper paid the price! Go figure! Oh well, just another thing that goes wrong n the world of crafting LOL.
I cut the image out using a square die from Spellbinder's Marvelous Squares and then adhered that to a 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 square of red patterned paper from Lawn Fawn's Let's Bokeh in the snow 6x6 paper pad. Once those were adhered, I put some foam tape on the back of that and then popped that up onto another piece of blue striped patterned paper from the same paper pad and then adhered the entire thing to a piece of 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 kraft cardstock base. To finish off my card, I punched out a few hearts using some more of the red patterned paper and adhered them to the front of the card. I also adhered a silver heart from Freckled Fawn. The sentiment is from the Spring Wreath stamp set from My Favorite Things. I did finish the inside with a white panel and two of the red hearts.
I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Sweet Jo, your card is perfectly delightful! The stamp is adorable and you've colored her beautifully, regardless of the paper challenge. The sprinkling of hearts is so pretty and I love the square base die. The heat-embossing simply gave extra shading to the cupcake wrapper. :o) Lovely work, dear friend! Your team did a gorgeous job, too! Thank you everyone for the sweet inspiration. :o)

Love your card!! hehehe sounds like me with crafting.. always something goes wrong! You can't even tell the paper is burned! And the coloring is alright too!! I know what you mean about coloring on other papers though... they just don't seem to blend right and they don't color as smooth. I get it!! Love all the DT Creations too!!
