Dies R Us Challenge #68 "Something New"

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to the month of March and to a new challenge at Dies R US ! I can almost smell the flowers and I am already starting to hear the birds chirping away early in the morning! Okay so today's challenge is to create a project using something new that you haven't used before. Well during the holidays, my sweet friend Darlene from Dar's Crafty Creations had sent me this beautiful die as a gift!! I knew that this would be the perfect time to get it out because the theme is to use something new! And I am so glad I did open it up and use it. It is a gorgeous die! It truly is so beautiful, thank you Darlene! Here is my design team project....

I cut out the Tutti Designs- Swirly Thanks Die  out of some black cardstock and then took some of my gel pens and colored in the leaves and flowers. I also added in some very thin lines to the inside of the letters but it is kind of hard to see in the photo. The color against that black really looks beautiful in real life. I adhered this beautiful die to a piece of white cardstock that had been run through the swiss dots embossing folder. The white panel was a negative scrap piece that I had left over from a previous project. I also cut out that gorgeous gold stripe cardstock using the largest frame from the  Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames Dies.

I adhered the white panel down to this panel using some foam adhesive for extra dimension. I had some WOC roses laying around so I took a bunch of them in the lilac and light pink and adhered them down throughout the "thanks" die. I just love how these flowers bring out that die even more! Then to finish off the card, I added a bit of Spectrum clear sparkle pen to the flowers. I also added that double heart charm and tied a bow to it using some black and white twine. Very simple card but so pretty. All the dies that I used on today's card are highlighted as links and can be found in the Dies R Us store HERE. Here are a couple more photos for you....

Well that is all I have for you today my friends. I appreciate you for taking time out of your day to visit me and see what I am up to.
