I decided to create another Easter card as I am running low on them. I cut down some bristol smooth paper and taped it down to a piece of cardboard using masking tape around the edges. I took out my zig clean color brush markers in a few shades of blue to create my background. I just layed some color down at the top of the paper and with my watercolor brush, allowed for the water and brush to do the work. I just LOVE the way these markers work with this bristol paper! The blending is effortlessly. I took my heat tool to it and once it dried, I took some Dr. Martin's white india ink, mixed it with a little water and made white splatters on the background. I let that dry naturally.
The dies that I used for this project that are highlighted above in the links, can be found in the Dies R Us store HERE
Once it was completely dry, I removed the masking tape from the edges to have a very clean white edged border. So I took my copic fine marker and created some doodles around the edge of the watercolor piece, inside the white frame. Love how this looks. Now since our actual challenge is to use borders or edges, I decided to take more of the bristol paper and die cut a beautiful border using the Sue Wilson- Californian Collection-Corner, Border, Tag (Border die). I only used the border from this set and I ended up cutting it in half. I adhered one half of it to the bottom of my panel and the other half, I trimmed off most of it and left just the scallops and adhered it to the top part of my panel. I wanted to give it a different look but it is the same exact border piece. I then adhered this entire panel to a standard A2 sized white card base. Next I cut out that beautiful cross die using Spellbinders- Crosses 2. To the cross, I added little doodle lines tracing the embossed portion that was already there using the same fine tip marker. I think this really gives the card a completed look. The "Easter" word die is from Simon Says Stamp. I added a few clear sequins to finish off this card and added some clear spectrum sparkle pen to the cross and the word die. In real life this card is so pretty! I hope you like it!
