Hello Friends!
Tomorrow is the big day when Jo's Scrap Shack turns 6!!! WOW! I still cannot believe it. This is the part where I get mushy and write a love letter basically to each of you but I'll save ya the boredom lol. Just know that you are all so very special to me and I value all of my friendships and work relationships with all of you who help make this blog a happy place!
Each year I kick it off with a huge blogaversary blog hop and lots of prizes along the way. This year I wanted to do things differently and shift my focus a bit. I have an amazing team of designers. Some of which have been with me since the very beginning, and some as new as this past November. And I have had so many who have come and gone over the years. So i wanted to highlight these amazing designers that I am privileged and honored to call my friends. So instead of a huge blog hop, I am going to have a celebration all month long during the month of May! Each Wednesday I will be featuring one of the designers in the spotlight so that you can get to know them just a little better and visit their blogs! But Don't worry! I haven't forgotten about all of you either, my very loyal and amazing bloggy friends and followers!!! Each week I will be giving away different prizes to celebrate our 6th birthday!!!
This week's giveaway will be a $25 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!
To be eligible to win this week's prize and the rest of the prizes all month long:
1. Make sure you are a subscriber to Jo's Scrap Shack
2. Come back every Wednesday throughout May and see what designer is in the spotlight and leave a comment under their post!
3. Visit the designer's blog and leave a little love over there too! (We want you to see just how talented these designers are & they have amazing projects on their blogs!)
*BONUS*.... earn yourself 3 extra entries for this week's prize by visiting us on Our Facebook Page and sharing our post about our 6th birthday!
All winners will be announced on June 6th!!
That's it!
So to jumpstart our 6th birthday celebration one day early, we welcome our sweet and lovely designer Heather to the spotlight!
Hello Friends, it's Heather here! Today is a special day!! It is the beginning of a month long Blogaversary celebration for Jo's Scrap Shack!!
Jo has been running this blog for 6 years! What a milestone! So to celebrate, some of us on the Design Team will be sharing birthday-themed projects throughout the month. I'm the first one up. I actually joined Jo's team two years ago at this time. She asked me to participate in her blog hop May of 2016 and also asked me to join the Team; it's been a fabulous 2 years. Happy Blogaversary, Jo! Here is my card for your inspiration:
I used two of my favorite Papertrey Ink stamp sets for this one: "The Sweet Life" and "Hands of Time." I heat embossed the clock face with white embossing powder and then used creamy caramel ink sponged around the image to make it pop. I die cut the clock hands out of a textured silver paper and sponged on some soot distress oxide ink to antique them up a bit. Oh, did I mention there will be prizes?? You can't have a celebration without prizes. So, make sure you head over to Jo's blog for all the details.
Supplies:
Stamps: PTI "Hands of Time" and "The Sweet Life"; Verve "Be Blessed" sentiment
Dies: MFT "Blueprints 13" stitched rectangle; PTI "The Sweet Life" and "Hands of Time"
