Cardz TV "Jars, Jams & Jellies" Linky Party

Hello Friends!
It's been a LONG week for me. But the good news is, the weekend is here and lots to do! Hopefully you will have some crafty time because today we are starting
another challenge going on over at Cardz TV!

The Challenge: "Jars, Jams & Jellies" Linky Party -
Create a card, layout or altered project using a jar (examples: canning fruits, homemade jellies, canned jams)

Starts: Friday, Sept. 13th
Ends: Thursday, Sept. 26th at Noon

So here is what I made for this challenge:

I created  a sweet card using some cherries because I had this adorable cherry paper in a paper stack that I had gotten from Hobby Lobby that I've been waiting to use. I used the stamp set "Love in a Jar" by Cardz TV Stamps. The jar, cherries and the sentiment are all from the set. Here is the set so you can see it. It is such a cute stamp set!!!
The card is a standard A2 sized card. Cardstock used is from Recollections. Patterned papers are from the "Olivia's Sweet Shop" paper stack from The Paper Studio. I stamped the jar and colored in the lid with my prisma colored pencils, stamped the cherries in some holiday red ink by CTMH, used my colored pencils to highlight the stems and colored in the jar with my copic B000 to make it look more realistic like glass. I used my glitter pen to add some glitter and sparkle to the cherries and finished off the card by adding some ribbon tied into a knot and a cute flower from my stash. The jar and sentiment are popped up on quarter inch foam squares.

Well my friends, that's my card for today's challenge! You should really stop by the Cardz TV Blog to see all the wonderful projects that my design team sisters have created and link up your own project for a chance to win some awesome Cardz TV Stamps!

Cardz TV's Challenge #31 "Love in a Jar"

Click Here for my 200 Follower Giveaway

Hello my bloggy friends!
Welcome to another Friday, to the start of a new weekend and to
another challenge with Mary and Cardz TV!

Cardz TV Ch# 31 "Love in a Jar" Challenge
Make a card, layout or craft project using things that you would put in a jar.
Starts: Fri, June 14th
Ends: Thurs, June 27th @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps
Here is my project for this challenge:

For my project, I decided to make a card and a mini journal to give as a gift set to a special someone. My card is sized at 3" by 6". I stamped the large jar from Cardz TV's "Love in a Jar" stamp set onto some Bazzill white CS using my momento tuxedo black ink. I used the small and large hearts from the set and inked them up using Close to my Heart's Vanilla Cream, Holiday Red and Watermelon inks. I fussy cut the jar out and then used my B00 copic marker around the lid to make it look like the jar was open and I added some glossy accents to the entire jar below the lid to make it shine like the look of glass.

I used a patterned paper by Adorn It for my card and journal. The pretty blue paper is from Gina K and I embossed it using my swirls and flourishes embossing folder. I took a piece of Papertrey Ink's vintage cream CS and ran it through my Martha Stewart's Trellis Chain deep edge punch and added it under the blue embossed paper to give it a more elegant look. I took the jar and turned it upside down and adhered it on some foam tape. I stamped some extra hearts and fussy cut them out and made it look as if the hearts were falling out of the jar and into a pile. I then finished off the card by adding the sentiment, "Just for you", also from the stamp set and adding some pretty pink rhinestones from Recollections.

I was inspired to make this cute mini journal when I saw Nicole from Unify Handmade's post just last week. I thought these cute journals were adorable! I tweeked mine a bit differently but just love how this turned out. I used the same paper from Adorn It and cut it at 7 3/8" by 4 1/4" and scored it at
2 1/8" and 6". That will create the base for the journal. I took my whole punch and created holes in the top of my closing flap and in the middle of the front of my journal. I punched out two hearts from my old creative memories heart punch at 1" and stamped them with the small and large hearts from the "Love in a Jar" stamp set using the same Close to my heart inks as on my card. I added the hearts to my journal using some cute pink brads that I had in my stash. The lower heart is layered on top of a cute frame that I fussy cut from the opposite side of the paper. I took a piece of the blue CS and stamped it with the small heart in vanilla cream ink. This piece of paper is sized at 2" and scored in half. I used this to wrap around as a spine cover for the journal.

I then took some computer paper, ten sheets and cut them in half at 4 1/4". I took one half of the sheets and folded them in half and then cut them down to 3". This size fits perfectly inside my journal. I stapled the computer sheets of paper to the inside of my journal on the fold. To keep my journal closed, I took some ivory twine and wrapped it around the hearts a few times. I added two more hearts to the end of the twine for a cute closure. To finish off my journal, I added some pretty pink rhinestones to the brads and to the front and back of the heart closure. Here is a picture of the opened mini journal.

Well that's it from me for today my friends. I hope that I have inspired you to make one of these mini journals for yourselves or to give as a gift. These are a great size to put in a purse to use to jot down phone numbers, grocery store items, directions and to-do lists. To purchase your " Love in a Jar" stamp set, click here and please don't forget to stop by the Cardz TV Blog to see all the beautiful projects my design team sisters have created using this stamp set. Personal Challenge Week 11

Click Here for my 200 follower giveaway!

Hello friends!
My heart aches for the families in Oklahoma. These storms are hitting too close to home for me. I live in tornado alley myself and so far, have been extremely lucky and blessed to not get hit by one. They are all around me and needless to say, it is very scary. So to keep my mind off the storms, I was able to get in my craft room more this week and get some projects completed.

Today's card is a card I did over this past weekend. This is my next personal challenge with my good friend Kellie at A Little Bit of Kellie. The challenge was to use blue and gray with some embossing.

My card is sized at 5 X 5. I used bazzill cardstock for the base of my card and I used the new Silky Smooth Neutrals cardstock by DCVW as my front layer(gray). Love this paper! I ran it through my ebosser using my damask embossing folder. This paper has now become my favorite paper to emboss with! It embosses so smoothly and it raises up beautifully!

I used my Spellbinder's Contemporary hearts pendants shapabilities dies as my main focal point. I added a small light blue brad to the center top of the die cut shape because I felt like it needed something. Lately I have been using a lot of bling and sequins so it looked too plain with nothing. My sentiment, "Just for You" is from the new "Love in a jar" stamp set by Cardz TV. Very cute stamp set!

I stamped the sentiment onto Bazzill white cardstock using my momento tuxedo black ink and cut it into a banner shape and then matted that onto some more of the blue cardstock, also into a banner shape. I then took some of the negative heart pieces from the main die cut and used them on my sentiment banner. I thought they looked cute and it gives the sentiment a framed look.

Well that is my card for today.
Please stop on by to visit Kellie and check  out what
 she created for this challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
