Dies R Us Challenge #80- Die Cut Handmade Flowers

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to a brand new challenge at Dies R US! Our challenge today is " Die cut handmade flowers".  So anything you want to create, any theme, any style... just use some handmade die cut flowers on your project.

So here is the card that I created for today's challenge.

My card is an A2 and I used GP cardstock and the papers are from Lemoncraft's "House of Roses" collection. My first panel was cut with the largest rectangle from the Lawn Fawn- Stitched Rectangle Frame Dies. On top of that, I die cut out that beautiful soft green music note paper from the "scalloped stitched rectangular dies" from My Creative Time. And from there it was all layers!

I cut out the pretty floral paper with a tag die, also from MCT and I wanted it adhered on a slant. To this tag, I adhered the Lawn Fawn- Thinking About You Border Die that I cut out of some cucumber crush cardstock (Stampin' Up) and added star dust stickles to it. I really like how it looks on the slant to be aligned with the tag. It's different but nice. Since we had to use die cut handmade flowers on our projects, I decided I wanted to match the paper collection and have roses on this card. So I cut out the two roses out of watermelon wonder (Stampin' Up) cardstock and used the Memory Box- Plush Classic Rose Die. I am not the best at rolling roses but I think they came out okay. I added some cotton candy stickles to the inside centers and randomly around the petals.

Now that the roses were cut and ready, I set them aside and cut out those beautiful scrolls from Spellbinders. I thought they would make such a beautiful accent and I wanted to bring in a little more white to compliment that first stitched rectangle frame layer. I added star dust stickles to them as well and I just love the shine! I adhered the scrolls where I wanted them and then I adhered the roses and leaves in place. The leaves were already cut from a previous project so I just used them, it worked out! And after looking at everything together, I still had a large open space on that tag so I cut out a small tag from MCT and stamped the sentiment "Sweet friend" from the MCT "Teeny tag greetings" stamp set. Added in some green/white twine, tied a bow and adhered it with foam tape. It gives a little dimension and is exactly perfect to fill in that space. Really love how this turned out and I even finished the inside with the "Just a note" sentiment from the "Just a note" stamp set from MCT....

And that completes my card! All of the dies that I used that you can purchase in the Dies R Us store are highlighted in the links above and can be found HERE

April's Showers bring May's flowers~ Dies R Us Challenge 72

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to a new challenge at Dies R US! Our challenge today is all about flowers. We want to see flowers on your projects!

So here is the card that I created for today's challenge.

I decided to make a step card as I haven't made one in such a long time. I forgot how fun they were to make. My card base is made with 110lb white cardstock and the papers are from My Besties Designs. I cut out the Tutti Designs- Garden Trellis Die and colored in some of the flowers and then used some leaves to scatter around from cutting out the Impression Obsession-Bouquet Dies. I cut out the bouquet dies twice just so I could get the extra leaves to scatter on the trellis die and to get the extra grass that I adhered in front of the trellis. Then the actual bouquet I colored in as I cut out out on white cardstock. I used my spectrum noir markers to color in the flowers and grass. I also cut out the Tutti Designs- Tulip Corner Die out of white cardstock and colored them in with the same colors. They were sort of brighter than I had wanted so once all the flowers were cut and colored, I used some gesso to mute the colors and give it a softer look. I love how the gesso gave them such a softer look and almost like a glow to them. I added in a very thin strip of washi tape to the top and bottom of the trellis and to the "steps" of the card. I love how this breaks it up and gives off a nice contrast. Next I adhered the flowers down on the steps the way I wanted them.

Before adhering the trellis down to the card, I added a little bit of cheesecloth for a bit more texture. Love how this looks! To finish off the card, I added in some bare wood chippies, some butterflies and the sentiment "Thank you". I added some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the butterlies, the sentiment and all the flowers to make them sparkle. Then I added a few clear sequins to the butterflies and a few to give the card a finished look.  All of the dies that I used are highlighted in the links above and can be found in the Dies R Us store HERE
