Mother's Day

Hi blog friends, happy Thursday! I want to apologize for being MIA the past week, it's been hectic. We all know how life gets in the way right? I have been under the weather as well and it has not been fun to say the least. So anyways, my neighbor came to me on Tuesday and asked me if I could make a Mother's day card for her soon to be daughter-in-law because she forgot to purchase a card at the store and loves my work *giggle*...so of course I said I would make her a card and here it is.

The card is an A2 card using DCVW blue cardstock as the base and the pretty patterned paper is also from DCVW's Linen Closet collection. I just LOVE this paper! It has some glitter going through it and sparkles but you can't see that in the picture.

I printed out the sentiment on some Bazzill white cardstock that I cut out using my Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis dies and then inked up the edges using some Tim Holtz antique linen distress ink. The flowers are from a mother's day stamp set by Ditto. I colored them using copics BG05, BG10 and BG15 and then added some glossy accents. I used gold platinum liquid pearls for the flower centers and around the sentiment frame. I used some Martha Stewart ribbon that I had in my stash to make a cute quick bow to dress up the side. I also cut a frame for the inside of the card using the spellbinder's  fleur de lis die and added more liquid pearls to continue the theme of the card. The saying on the inside is my own and says: "It takes a real special person to be a Mother. Someone who nurtures and loves unconditionally; someone who's work is never done. You fill these shoes flawlessly. Happy Mother's Day".

I am not sure why my picture is on it's side, I apologize for that. Well that is my card for today, I hope you liked it and hope it inspires you to make your Mom a handmade card for Mother's day!
