Ask Jo! It's Talk Time Tuesday~

Hello my sweet friends!
Welcome back to another Talk time Tuesday! Well I don't know about all of you, but I know some of you were here on Sunday to help me celebrate three years of blogging!! How cool is that right? I made it to the three year mark!! Yay!

It is such a beautiful day out today. It's 85, sun keeps trying to peek out but we are expected to have some thunderstorms this afternoon and it is a bit cloudy. I have been hearing the birds chirping all afternoon and the seagulls squawking. I love that sound! Do you?

Okay so moving on,  today's question comes from Adele P. who wants to know, " Hello Jo! I just joined your blog a month ago so I do not know if this has been asked yet. What marker do you suggest for coloring?"

Hello Adele!!
There are so many great products out there for coloring, but to get specific to the markers, I really like the Copic Sketch Markers  . They are an alcohol based marker that come with double sided nibs, one brush tip and one chisel tip. I like these markers because they are so juicy. They blend very well together and they are refillable! You can just purchase the refills and continue reusing your marker. I will say this though, I have had my copic markers for about 4 years now and I have not had to replace any ink yet. So the ink does last a long time. Another good set of markers that I use from time to time are the BIC Mark It Markers. They are also alcohol based markers and blend nicely. I like these because they come in a nice fine tip for more precision on those smaller projects. If you do not own any markers yet, pick yourself up a set of alcohol markers and you can't go wrong. These types of markers work well for straight coloring, blending, watercoloring, etc. I love tools that serve more then one purpose and they say that you get what you pay for so I rather pay a few more bucks for my markers and know that I'm getting a good quality marker.

I hope that helps answer your question Adele. There are also other markers on the market you can look into. There are the Spetrum Noir Markers, Tim Holtz Distress Markers and the Zig Memory Markers that I can think of at the moment. I just suggest that you do the homework. Research the different types of markers to see what they can do and ask yourself what type of projects you will use them for. Find the best marker for you. :)  I appreciate you writing in hon and I hope you have been enjoying my blog so far. :) Hope to hear from you again soon Adele!

Well friends, that is it for today. Please write in with questions you want answered or topics you would like to see talked about during our Tuesdays together :)

Thanks for stopping by and until next time.... Enjoy life's blessings~

  1. Thanks for the awesome blog hop and a Happy Third Birthday to you! :) I am in love with both my Copic and distress markers for their different capabilities, but I find myself using the Copics the most. I've only had one dry out in 4 years time, but I loved that I could replace the nib and refill it. :)

  2. What a good question~It's fun to hear what others think and what works best for them. I actually like the copic markers. I have tried some of the other brands but keep finding myself going back to the copic. Thanks for the info....very informative!
