Hello my friends!
This is my 2nd post today so if you are looking for the Cardz TV post, please click the link at the top of this page. I just want to say thank you to everyone who played in last week's first Funday Friday challenge! We had more entries then I had expected so that makes me SMILE! This week's challenge is another fun sketch. I just want everyone to know that our Funday Friday Challenges will not always be a sketch. We have all kinds of things in store for you but since we are brand new, we figured we would start off with something we know everyone loves, sketches!
Here is this week's sketch created by our own Amanda :

and here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to use this challenge to make my sister her birthday card. My birthday is this Sunday and hers is next Sunday. My card base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. I used Bazzill CS for my base. I used paper by Bazzill and Cosmo Cricket. I decided to go with stripes because for some reason, stripes draw the eye to the focal point IMO.

I used my Spellbinders Beaded Ovals dies to frame my sentiment, "You're only as old as you feel" which is from the "Good Times" stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps. I cut the largest oval(black) and the second largest oval (white). I took some handmade fiber paper (red strip) to add some red as an accent color behind the ovals to compliment the striped paper on the bottom. I added a cute little rose to my sentiment frame and the sentiment is popped up on foam tape.
I used my EK Success punch to form the heart scroll border behind the ovals and once again added some more of that handmade fiber paper. It seems to give the look of ribbon. I really like how this card turned out. Below is a picture of the inside which has another sentiment from the "Good Times" stamp set, "Happy birthday to you". To order this stamp set, click Here.

Personal Challenge Week 10

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
Today I am sharing a layout I did for week 10's Personal Challenge with my bestie Kellie over at A Little Bit of Kellie. It was Kellie's week to pick the challenge and she challeneged us to have a big "oversized" title. Well I went to my pazzles and created the title, "Easter Dinner Memories" to go with an Easter layout that I put together. The photos in this layout were from 2008! YES I AM THAT BEHIND LOL ...

The background layout papers are from Recollection's All Seasons paper pad. The banner at the top, the tickets, the pink paper and blue photo mat paper are also from that same Recollection's paper pad. I took one of my Martha Stewart punches and punched out two borders out of some Coordinations paper. The title was cut out of some cute paper that I had in my stash on my pazzles inspiration machine. The first letter of each word was cut "Bigger" then the words. I also cut out that cute Easter egg from my pazzles and added some ultra fine glitter to it and added a bow made from hemp. To finish the layout off, I added some Liquid Pearls by Ranger to my borders and banner and used my stickles to glitz up my title some.

Well that is my project for today. I sure hope you stop by Kellie's Blog to see her take on week 10's personal challenge. If you want to play along with us at any time, please do! Just link back to our blogs on your blog.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

Cardz TV's Challenge #27 "Mix It Up!"

Hey there everyone!  It's time for another challenge at Cardz TV!

Cardz TV Ch# 27 "Mix It Up!"
Make a card, layout or craft project mixing 3 patterned papers
Starts: Fri, April 5
Ends: Thurs, Apr 18 @ Noon EST
Prize: 1 set of Cardz TV Stamps

I am not good when it comes to mixing multiple patterned papers, so this was definitely a struggle and definitely not my best work!
I used a stamp set  called "With Love" from CTMH for the flowers, flower vase and leaves. I stamped the flowers on patterned papers that I got from a Recollection's paper pad with some momento rich cocoa ink and fussy cut them. I then stamped the yellow flower with a peachy keen stamp. I also stamped the vase in rich cocoa ink onto some white bazzill paper and inked up the edges with tea dye distress ink. I inked the leaves/stems in Papertrey Ink's "new leaf" ink. The sentiment, "You can lean on me" is from the stamp set "More Encouraging Thoughts" by Mary's Cardz TV Stamps and I inked that up in the momento rich cocoa ink.

My cardbase and 1st layer paper are cardstock by Bazzill. The pretty yellow/white pinstripe paper is also from the Recollection's paper pad that I used for the flowers.

Here is a peek at the inside which also has a sentiment, "I'm here if you need me" also from the Cardzs TV stamp set "More Encouraging Thoughts".

Here is the stamp set I used for today's card and if you would like to purchase this set, you can just click HERE and get it!
