FFC #143 "It's Sketch Time"

I had the pleasure of working with an adorable little sailor bunny, "S.S. Hoppity" and I flipped the sketch upside down for my card.

My image was colored with my prisma colored pencils and I used some mineral spirits to blend. I created the sun in my image because this adorable bunny is smiling and I imagined him enjoying the beautiful sun beating down on him as he set sail on his voyage. My image was cut out using the Layering Circle Framelit Dies from Stampin' Up. This new set of dies comes with the regular circles and the scallops! All of my paper came from the same 6x6 paper pad by Fancy Pants called, "Down by the shore". To finish off the card I added some faux stitching using my white paint pen. I added a few silver sparkly embellies to 3/4" circles that I punched out on some of the yellow patterned paper from the paper pad. Then I added a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and used two word stickers from Graphic 45's "Voyage beneath the sea" to create my sentiment. Oh and I also added some sparkle to the sun and the sea using my Spectrum clear sparkle pen. I hope you like!

FFC #129 "It's Sketch Time"

I was able to work with this gorgeous Cross and Flowers image by Robyn's Fetish.

I had so much fun with this image. I used my watercolors to color in this image. I wanted to make the cross look like weathered wood. I was actually pleased with how this turned out. I also flicked a few grass strands to make it look like it was sitting in a field of grass instead of just on a hilltop. Once my image was dry I adhered it to a piece of royal blue cardstock from Recollections. Then I added that to a piece of yellow cardstock that was embossed with my "climbing roses" embossing folder. The entire card was then adhered to my card base which measures a tad bit over 5 by 7. The sketch was a great starting point for me this week but I took it and tweaked it a bit. I punched out some butterflies from a butterfly punch and added a few sparkly embellies to the centers and then adhered two of them flying up the card and the last one toward the bottom more. This is supposed to be where the stars are on the sketch. Then for my sentiment, I stamped the "prayers" from a My Favorite Things stamp onto some white cardstock and created some fishtails. I thought to make this a bit smaller so that it could fit across the front of the cross. I like how the bright white pops off the cross. All in all, this is a different sized card then what I normally would make but I really do like how it turned out. I hope you like it too.

FFC #124 "It's sketch time"

Well...want the good news or the bad news first? I know, always good news! Okay so I created a card for today's challenge but the bad news is, I forgot it was a sketch challenge so it is not following the sketch for this week! AAAH! Can you tell that I'm just starting to get back into the swing of things with creating? LOL It just goes to show that I am not perfect! :) So in any case,
I am hoping it will still make you smile!

I used this sweet adorable Easter bunny digital stamp from Scrappers Delights . I colored this bunny in with my Prisma colored pencils, I even colored on some extra grass to make it look more like the bunny was in a field of grass. Lately I have been using markers so I wanted to tone it down a bit with this digital stamp. I'm glad I did because I really like the cute storybook look that it has to it. The image was printed on white cardstock from Recollections and then I adhered that to a cute piece of fun circle paper that came from the "Style Board" 6x6 paper pad by Crate Paper. This card is 5x5 and the cardbase is a piece of cardstock from Stampin Up. The gray cardstock is from Coordinations and I embossed that using my damask pattern embossing folder from Craftwell. The cute sentiment came out of a little booklet that I have from Crafty Secrets and I thought it went perfect!

To finish off the card I added some butterfly stickers flying around on this nice Spring day and added some lemon bar sequins from 3 Twenty Crafts. I also added some wink of stella to the pebble stones and the eggs that are in the basket. One last thing I did was add some gold cording, wrapped it around three times and then tied into a bow. I really like how this turned out and I plan on giving this to my daughter on Easter. I hope you like it!
