I am so happy that you could join us today for day 2 of the hop! If you did not get the chance to hop with us yesterday, you can just go Here and see all the wonderful projects that our design team has created just to showcase this gorgeous stamp set!
You should have arrived here from Laura's blog from the Queen's Card Castle...and now here is what I made.I made this card for my daughter to give to her dad on Father's Day.
I used kraft cardstock for my card base and made this into a regular A2 sized card. This is a one layer card which I rarely never do but I like how this turned out. Masculine cards are always a struggle but this one came together quite easy. The patterned paper is from Colorbok and so is the scalloped die cut. I fussy cut the scalloped die cut and stamped the sentiment "Happy Father's Day" using momento rich cocoa ink. I also stamped the mustache that comes in the stamp set using the same ink, fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam tape to add to the sentiment tag. I added a strip of patterned paper scalloped edged, also from Colorbok. To finish the front of this card off, I added some hemp cord and a rich brown button from October Afternoon. I went ahead and finished the inside.. here is a peek..
I used the same patterned paper on the inside and stamped the sentiments, "Dad" and "You're the BOMB!" in the same momento rich cocoa ink. I added some hemp cord to the top and added these cute glasses(also from the stamp set) up in the corner. I added some glossy accents to the glasses to make them look more realistic.
Well that is my card for today but please make sure to stop on by the Cardz TV blog and leave a comment for your chance to win not 1, but 2 sets of Cardz TV Stamps! The winner will be announced on Monday via random.org. Below is a list of the participants in today's blog hop. Please be sure to stop by each one and leave some love. ReplyDeleteGreat card! I will have to use that idea for background paper. It looks like log paper from old accountant!
ReplyDeleteLove the kraft card and that you kept it simple. Sometimes I think that is the reason I struggle so with masculine cards because I'm making them too difficult.

Great guy card. It's funny because I always tend to make my cards for guys with a kraft cardstock base. I'm always afraid it will look to femine otherwise. Love how you did the inside of the card.
