Now here is a card I made for my niece for her birthday and I never shared it.

I cut this card out using my elegant edges cricut cartridge using some Recollections CS. I cut a top layer of the scalloped lace edge out of some SEI patterned CS to bring in some of the pretty fun colors. The top layer is some paper from my stash that was embossed and cut out from another lacey edge on the cartridge. The birds and banner were also cut with my cricut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I added some liquid pearls around the card edges and to the birds wings and finished it off with some beautiful ribbon and personalized it with her name. Inside this card was the beautiful doll magnet that I made using my paper dolls cartridge, peachy keen stamps, some liquid pearls and glitter. She was cut out at 4" and I gave her the same color eyes and hair as my niece and turned her into a ballet dancer, as my niece is in ballet. She ended up loving this little magnet that she now holds all her pretty artwork from school with on her refrigerator at home.

Well my friends that is all I have for today. I hope you have a great week ahead! Thanks for stopping by and until next time.... Enjoy life's blessings~

Here is what I created this week for the challenge

I decided to use my cricut expression to make my card. I loaded up my artiste cartridge and cut this card at 6" from some deep plum CS from Recollections. I cut out the stars from the same cartridge on teal and light blue papers also from Recollections, at 3/4", 1",  1 3/4" and 2". I then cut out the teal and light blue shape from the elegant edges cartridge at 2 1/2" and 3".

I ran the card base through my ebosser using the "Smitten" folder by Anna Griffin. I layered all my stars together and layered my main shapes together. I used the Kudos Stamp Set from CTMH to stamp the star that says "super" and the sentiments, "You're the best" and "Congrats". This stamp set comes with the Artiste bundle and made stamping it onto my cut out star a snap! I stamped these images in versafine and used my Ranger's white embossing powder and heat embossed each one. I then stamped my sentiment, "Follow your dreams" from Cardz TV Stamp's set called "More Encouraging Thoughts" in soft lilac by Hero Arts. I ran this sentiment piece through my ebosser using my swiss dots embossing folder to give it some texture. To finish off my card I added some purple sequins and used my white sakura pen to add some white dots.

FCC #6 "LET FREEDOM RING"

Hello my bloggy friends!
Welcome to another Funday Friday Challenge.

Today is a very special day as it is my niece's 6th birthday
and our 6th Funday Friday Challenge!
But seriously, where on earth did June go? I feel like I blinked and it was over.
But ya know what? Next week is one of my favorite times of the year, Independence Day. The summer sun beating down, the smells of BBQ cooking in the air, hearing kids' laughter with splashes hitting the pool and most importantly...our freedom to do it all!
 So with that being said...

This week's Challenge:
"Let Freedom Ring"
Create a card, layout or project for the 4th of July or showing us your
Red, White & Blue!
*One lucky winner will be selected via random.org for a Guest Designer spot for August!*
Starts: Friday, June 28th 12:00AM
Ends: Friday, July 5th 6:00PM
(central time)

*NOTE*
CHALLENGE RULES UPDATE
We have now changed the challenge rules to 3 entries per person per challenge except for the Anything Goes challenges which will be unlimited.

Here is what I created this week for the challenge

For this challenge, I decided I wanted to create a tag. I forgot how fun they were to make! I cut out my tag using my Elegant Edges cricut cartridge and cut out the "burst" cut on oblong at 4" out of some blue CS from Recollections that had already been decorated with artist spackle. I cut a second "burst" out on oblong at 4 1/4" out of red CS from Bazzill. Speaking of artist spackle, I took my Flower Frenzy template by The Crafter's Workshop, layered it on top of my blue CS and spread my artist spackle over it. Once the template was covered with the spackle, I lifted it up and then let my CS dry. It gives a raised finish, kinda like embossing only a bit higher.

I then took my Lobster glimmer mist and lightly sprayed it over the top of my stencil to bring in some red splats. I took my white sakura pen and outlined some of the flowers and added in some dots. I took some white DIY Thickers to say "4th" and very carefully glittered each one up using red, white and blue glitter from Glitz. I also used some scor-tape under the "burst" and peeled it up little by little to glitter underneath it so that the burst was also red, white and blue.
To finish off my tag, I cut out some stars from an old cm punch, glittered them as well and popped the white and blue one up on foam tape for some dimension. I decided to also add a few silver sequins and some red and blue twine tied off at the top of the tag. Here is a close up of the "burst".

Well that is my tag my friends.
I plan on using this for a July 4th scrapbook layout.
I am also having a little giveaway~
How would you like to win this same cute flower frenzy template that I used on my tag?

All you have to do is submit one question using the "Ask Jo" tab at the top of my blog and you will be entered to win! Easy Peasy! I will announce the winner on Friday, July 5th.

So here is what I made for this challenge:

Card is a standard A2 card. Papers are by Recollection and Papertrey Ink. I used my Country Life cartridge to cut the farmer out at 3 1/4". I inked around all the edges using momento rich cooca ink.

To finish the card off, I used some hemp cord wrapped around the top of the card and threaded on the buttons. The buttons are from October Afternoon.  My sentiments are inked with the same momento rich cocoa ink and come from the "You're the Man" stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps.

PSC72: Brides or Babies- Wedding

Make sure you enter my 200 Follower Giveaway! for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Michael's!

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Perfect Sentiments Challenge #72 , "Brides or Babies". I decided to go with the Wedding theme and created a card with matching envelope.
I used the Artiste cartridge and cut out the envelope out at 6 1/2" out of some pretty elegant silver paper from Me and My Big Ideas "Specialty paper pad", then I cut out the envelope again at 5 3/4" so that I would have a nice matting to layer on top. This pretty white/silver paper is also from the same paper pad. I neeed to have a sentiment on the front of my project, so I decided to go with "Mr. & Mrs." since it's perfect for the occasion. I cut out the sentiment from page 61 of the Artiste cartridge. To finish off the envelope, I added some glossy accents to my sentiment and used some gorgeous black/white ribbon that I had gotten from WalMart to make a belly band with a bow as the envelope's closure. The belly band has a velcro closure in the back so that it can be easily opened or shut.

I cut out the card from page 62 out of that same silver paper at 4 3/4" and then cut it again using some Bazzill white cardstock at 3 3/4" to have a perfect matting. I inked up the edges of the white cardstock using tea dye distress ink by Tim Holtz. The sentiment,"Wishing you all the love and happiness two people can share" is from an old Stampin Up set and was inked using some archival ink by Ranger. To finish this card, I added some "white opal" Perfect Pearls to frame the corners both at the top and bottom. I then added some more of that pretty ribbon to the bottom and a flower that I had in my stash from Pebbles. The only thing extra I did to the flower was add the center brad which is from Bazzill. Here are a few more photos:

Well thats my project for today. I hope you stop by the Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog and give this one a try! Thanks for stopping by!!

BBTB2 "Use the card feature" Challenge

Click HERE for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge

Hello Friends!
I cannot believe how fast this week is going by! Is it me or do you all feel the same way? My new friend Brenda, is hosting this week's challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2 and I thought I'd play along. The challenge was to use any card feature on any cricut cartridge so I pulled out my Art Philosophy cartridge and came up with this.......

I decided to cut this cute scalloped card from page 33, out of some plum cardstock by Recollections. I cut this out at 5 1/2".  I cut out the cute decorative frame out of vintage cream cardstock by Papertrey Ink and then embossed it using my damask embossing folder. I took some Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink to bring out the embossing. I also cut out a layer for the front of the card out of some pretty patterned paper from My Mind's Eye at 5 1/4".

I then cut out the butterfly on page 55, also in vintage cream cardstock. I cut this twice, once at 2 1/2" and once at 1 1/2". I ran the butterflies through my ebosser using my swiss dots embossing folder and inked them up with the tea dye distress ink. I used some rock candy stickles on the butterflies to add some sparkle and used some Petal Pink Liquid Pearls for the butterflies' bodies and also on the decorative frame front. The sentiment, "Follow your dreams" is from Close to my Heart's stamp set called "Follow your Dreams". I stamped that out using my archival ink by Ranger. To finish off the card, I added some Royal Jewels in pink.

Here is a peek at the inside of my card that uses the sentiment/quote, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"-(Eleanor  Roosevelt) also from the same stamp set and I carried the theme from the front of the card to the inside.

Well that is my card for today! I hope you enjoyed it!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Pinspired Challenge #6

I hope you get crafty and join the challenges too!
Thanks for stopping by!

I cut out this cute owl using my Give a Hoot cricut cartridge and cut him out at 3 3/4". He can be found on page 55. I also added some googly eyes to him, I just love adding googly eyes to all my little animals! My owl is also on an action wobble!!!! I couldn't get a good picture of him wobbling!

I also cut out the oblong frames using my elegant edges cartridge and they are popped up on foam tape. I used a banner stamp from the "Dilly Dally" set from Making Memories to stamp my banner onto some patterned paper and cut them out. I used some lawn trimmings for the string to hold my banner and to finish off my card, I used the cutest sentiment "Owl be there for you" from Mary's CardzTV stamp set, For the Birds

Cricut Cardz Challenge #112

Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had a stressful weekend to say the least but I did manage to squeeze in some crafting time for myself. Whenever I am stressed, all I have to do is go hide away in my craft room and the stress goes away once I start playing!

So I decided to join the Cricut Cardz Challenge #112, "Tag, You're it!" challenge going on over at Cardz TV. The challenge called for making a card with a tag or tags using any cricut cartridge so I pulled out my Jolly Holidays cricut cartridge and made this cute holiday card

The cardstock is from Bazzill and the patterned papers are from DCWV. I cut out this cute gingerbread man out at 3" and I also cut out the tag at 1 3/4". My sentiment "warm wishes" comes from a stamp set from Hot off the Press. I added some cute googly eyes to my gingerbread man to give him some personality and to finish off the card, I added some twine and yarn in red and green. Well I hope you pop over to Cardz TV and link up your "Tag, You're it" card challenge! Well thank you for stopping by my blog today and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
