FCC #6 "LET FREEDOM RING"

Hello my bloggy friends!
Welcome to another Funday Friday Challenge.

Today is a very special day as it is my niece's 6th birthday
and our 6th Funday Friday Challenge!
But seriously, where on earth did June go? I feel like I blinked and it was over.
But ya know what? Next week is one of my favorite times of the year, Independence Day. The summer sun beating down, the smells of BBQ cooking in the air, hearing kids' laughter with splashes hitting the pool and most importantly...our freedom to do it all!
 So with that being said...

This week's Challenge:
"Let Freedom Ring"
Create a card, layout or project for the 4th of July or showing us your
Red, White & Blue!
*One lucky winner will be selected via random.org for a Guest Designer spot for August!*
Starts: Friday, June 28th 12:00AM
Ends: Friday, July 5th 6:00PM
(central time)

*NOTE*
CHALLENGE RULES UPDATE
We have now changed the challenge rules to 3 entries per person per challenge except for the Anything Goes challenges which will be unlimited.

Here is what I created this week for the challenge

For this challenge, I decided I wanted to create a tag. I forgot how fun they were to make! I cut out my tag using my Elegant Edges cricut cartridge and cut out the "burst" cut on oblong at 4" out of some blue CS from Recollections that had already been decorated with artist spackle. I cut a second "burst" out on oblong at 4 1/4" out of red CS from Bazzill. Speaking of artist spackle, I took my Flower Frenzy template by The Crafter's Workshop, layered it on top of my blue CS and spread my artist spackle over it. Once the template was covered with the spackle, I lifted it up and then let my CS dry. It gives a raised finish, kinda like embossing only a bit higher.

I then took my Lobster glimmer mist and lightly sprayed it over the top of my stencil to bring in some red splats. I took my white sakura pen and outlined some of the flowers and added in some dots. I took some white DIY Thickers to say "4th" and very carefully glittered each one up using red, white and blue glitter from Glitz. I also used some scor-tape under the "burst" and peeled it up little by little to glitter underneath it so that the burst was also red, white and blue.
To finish off my tag, I cut out some stars from an old cm punch, glittered them as well and popped the white and blue one up on foam tape for some dimension. I decided to also add a few silver sequins and some red and blue twine tied off at the top of the tag. Here is a close up of the "burst".

Well that is my tag my friends.
I plan on using this for a July 4th scrapbook layout.
I am also having a little giveaway~

Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop!

Click Here for the Funday Friday Challenge 1

Hello Friends!
I hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.
I am not doing anything much so I've decided to get crafty today. I am playing along
with Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop today and thought I would share my card. The challenge was to pick a color combination given on Nichole's Blog and to use florals with those colors, although not all colors had to be used.

I chose this color combination:

I decided to create my own background paper. I started off with PTI's Vintage Cream CS and inked up some flowers from the "From me to you" stamp set by Close to my Heart and also some flowers from a small Studio 112 stamp set that I had. I used the colors Pure Poppy, Canyon Clay, Orange Zest, Autumn Rose and New Leaf to create the colorful blooms background. I then took some Pure Poppy CS cut at 4 1/4" by 5 3/4" and added a cute border trim at the bottom using one of my MS punches before adhering my floral layer to the front of it.

My sentiment, "Because You Matter to me" is a stamp that I had in my stash that I got from Michael's dollar bins long time ago. I inked that up with some ranger archival ink. To finish off the card, I added some razzleberry sequins and some rock candy stickles to the middles of some of the smaller flowers. Below is a picture of the inside which uses a sentiment from Cloud 9 Designs, "Simple Thoughts-Memories" stamp set.

Well that is my card for you today. I hope you have a great rest of the weekend and if you get time, go link up your project. You have until 11:30pm EST. tonight to link up for your chance to win $25 to shop at PTI! Have a great evening!!!

Cardz TV's " You've Got Mail" Blog Hop Day 2

Hello my crafty friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Welcome to day 2 of the Cardz TV "You've Got Mail Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Jeri's blog and I am your last stop on the hop today!
Here is what I created using the brand new stamp set "snail mail"

My card base is standard A2 sized. I used Papertrey Ink's winter wisteria cardstock for my card base. I layered it with some melon colored cardstock that I had in my stash from DCVW and for my front layer, I used the mini flower frenzy mask template by The Crafter's Workshop and used my glimmer mists to give me the beautiful colored background of purple/pink/blues. I stamped out the postage stamp from the stamp set, fussy cut it and then added some lavender stickles to it. I stamped the word"Hello" from the set in PTI's "Hawaiian Shores" ink directly in the center of the postage stamp. I used the stamp as a frame for my sentiment. The sentiment is popped up on two thicknesses of foam tape. I took the little heart from the stamp set and inked it up in various colors and stamped it in the centers of some of the flowers. Then to finish off the card, I added some turquoise sequins, some "Party Girl"sparkle lightz by Megan Elizabeth and some pretty purple shimmery ribbon that I had in my stash.

Well that is my card for ya for today. I hope you have enjoyed the hop and if you have not visited each blog, you can start at the beginning by going HERE. Remember to leave lots of love as we all enjoy comments and there is some blog candy a long the way!

Now onto my card today... I am participating in the awesome and very challenging
The wonderful Paulina from Pretty Pink Posh has created this crazy but "oh so much fun" challenge and week #17's challenge is to use the colors, kraft/aqua/coral. Here is what I came up with:

I used kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink as my card base. My first layer is the pretty aqua cardstock and my front layer is a coral piece of cardstock, both from Colorbok. I took my front layer and embossed it using the "Happy Birthday" embossing folder by Darice. I took my sponge and rubbed some tea dye distress ink over the embossed area to bring it out more. I added two aqua brads from Stampin Up, some sequins and finished it off with some Martha Stewart ribbon and some coral buttons that I had in my stash.
This card took me 8 MINS, 23 SECS.

Well that is my card for today.
I would also like to enter this card in the following challenge:
Ribbon Carousel's Celebrations Challenge!!!
The Ribbon Carousel is giving away one of these awesome ribbon carousels every month to one of the challenge participants! How cool is that?
